6 Temple Students Tied Up During North Philly Home Invasion
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for a pair of gunmen accused of breaking into a North Philadelphia home and terrorizing a group of college students.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday at an off-campus home in the 1900 block of North 18th Street.
Police say two armed men entered the house and tied up six Temple University students with zip ties, pistol whipped one of them and then robbed them.
The suspects demanded the contents of a locked box, which another student was forced to open. He was struck in the head and suffered a head injury.
None of the other students were seriously injured.
The suspects took an unknown amount of cash and electronics before fleeing.
The two suspects are described as African-American males. One is described as 6'1" tall wearing a dark Bucks County Community College sweatshirt. The men were last seen fleeing the scene in a white car.
Immediately following the incident, Temple University sent out an alert to notify students of what happened, and asked them to be vigilant and stay away from the area.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to call police.
