What Song Is This Summer's 'Cheerleader?'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Last summer, you just couldn't get away from 'Cheerleader' by Omi. The Felix Jaehn remix was on just about everybody's beach and party playlists in 2015.

So, what will everyone be singing along to this season?

The song of the summer has to feel like vacation.

"It has to be bright and positive," says Bennett, DJ and music director at 96.5 AMP Radio. "It's got to make you smile and dance. And to me, right now, the song that's doing it is Justin Timberlake, 'Can't Stop the Feeling.'"

"It's the perfect mood to kick off the summertime," Bennett says of the single taken from the soundtrack to the DreamWorks Animation 'Trolls' film. "It's infectious -- it's a first listen for me. It's positive, it's happy, it's upbeat. You're going to hear it at weddings this year. I think it's going to be universal -- any age, demographic. Justin Timberlake -- he never fails."

The smart money is on that tune. But don't rule out Rihanna: she partners with Calvin Harris on 'This Is What You Came For.'

"It's kind of a throwback to their previous hit song together, 'We Found Love,'" says Bennett. "It sounds like old Calvin and old Rihanna -- some of her most recent work is a bit darker and moodier, whereas I think this song is a little bit brighter."

His dark horse? Kent Jones with 'Don't Mind.'

"It has that Caribbean feel," Bennett says. "It's like you're having a giant life-size margarita. Like you're kissing a pina colada."

There's already a dance based on the lyrics sweeping across social media.

"This song was bubbling on YouTube -- millions of views on the video," Bennett explains. "People were Shazaming this record because no one knew who it was. After all the feedback, he got signed by a record label. All this happened before he even had any success. He put this song out and people were just interested by it, and now we play it on 96.5 AMP Radio."

Other contenders include Drake, with 'One Dance' and 'Panda' by Desiigner.

The Seeb remix of Mike Posner's 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza' probably came out too early in the calendar year to be a contender -- so perhaps the song you'll be most sick of come September hasn't even been released yet.

"It's crunch time: I'd expect the summer anthem to be released in the next two weeks," Bennett says. "We saw Britney Spears make a wonderful comeback, kicking off the Billboard Music Awards. Who knows -- a marquee name like that could surprise us and drop a summer bomb. Once you hear it, you'll know."
