Police Say Woman Who Reported Being Pulled Over By Fake Cop In Indiana Was Stopped By Real Officer
(CBS) -- Indiana State Police say they've cleared up a mystery: that a woman who thought she might have been stopped by a police impersonator Sunday night was stopped by a real officer after all.
It was on southbound I-65 around Crown Point Sunday evening when a black unmarked SUV stopped a 46-year-old woman for speeding.
She told Indiana State Police the man was in a dark uniform and she said he did not identify himself. She said he took her driver's license and drove off.

State Police initially warned people to look out for a possible police impersonator.
Now Indiana State Police say the officer was in fact an officer and that he was from a "local police agency."
A spokeswoman for State Police wouldn't identify the agency or provide any more information and she said there was no further investigation.
