Birchwood Cafe has a rich history, changing its business a few times during its existence. It started out as a dairy back in 1926 by the Bursch family and then became a grocery store in the 1940s. Later in 1995, this signature location was spawned into what it is today: a cafe. Birchwood is considered a perennial winner of best pie awards. It has pioneered its cooking by adopting the local and sustainable vein. If apple pie is what you crave, then it's apple pie you shall receive. Other juicy, sugary goodies include the the gluten-free maple pumpkin, the key lime pie and the apple cranberry ginger pie.

Cold Spring Bakery is another proud, award-winning, family-owned restaurant. Located not far from the city St. Cloud, Cold Spring is considered one of the best bakeries in the area because of its uniquely baked goods. This full-lined bakery has been in operation since 1946, baking all sorts of sugary treats (wedding cakes with cake decorators, cookies, rolls, doughnuts and more). It may have the usual pies (apple, pumpkin, classic banana cream, coconut cream), but they are finely cooked, prepared and served under $10. These are by far a great deal for such spectacular taste.
