Denver Experiencing Unusual Stretch Of 90-Degree Heat

DENVER (CBS4) - Tuesday marked Denver's 11th day in a row with a temperature in the 90s.

It's unusual for Colorado's capital city to experience 10 or more consecutive days of 90-degree heat with only 29 other instances of this happening in the Denver climate record which dates back to 1872.

For the period July 1-25 Denver's average temperature was 76.2°F which was 2.2°F above normal. The high reached 90°F or higher on 18 of the 25 days, including 102°F on July 10.

July 2016 is currently tied for the 15th warmest in the Denver climate record.
