Josh Norman: Defenders Have 'Got A Hit Out On' Odell Beckham Jr.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- After his on-field meltdown against the Carolina Panthers last season, Odell Beckham Jr. can expect some harsh treatment from opposing defenses this season, according to his archrival, Josh Norman.

"Everybody saw what he was," Norman, now a Washington Redskin, told ESPN the Magazine. "People from around the league were coming up to me afterward and saying, 'He does that crap all the time.' He lost so much respect from people for that little tantrum. I've already got a couple people telling me, 'OK, I've got a hit out on him.' It's going to be rough for him this year. And he brought it on himself."

Beckham was suspended one game last season for his conduct against Carolina. The All-Pro wide receiver drew three personal foul penalties, including one for a diving helmet-to-helmet hit on Norman.

"He's skilled and talented," Norman said. "I won't take that away from him. But he's never been through any adversity in his life. It's like, when are you ever going to grow up?"

Now with Norman moving to the NFC East, he and Beckham are scheduled to square off twice a year.

Last month, Beckham told GQ Magazine that he believes he's the only reason Norman is relevant. Norman shrugged off the comment by saying Beckham is "just one of the receivers in the division, adding, "I must be doing something right with how much the guy is talking about me."

Norman apparently isn't too keen on the Giants as a whole, either. He recounted a predraft meeting with the team in 2012.

"They were trying to get me to admit that I wouldn't listen to coaching," he told ESPN. "That I was a dirtbag. They kept asking me the same question, wanting me to admit to something I didn't do. I ended up breaking down in the room."
