Show At BB&T Pavilion To Go On As Planned After 42 Injured In Railing Collapse

By Dan Wing

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) -- Ticket holders for tonight's show at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden are being told that everything will go on as scheduled.

This comes after 42 people were injured when a railing collapsed during a concert there last night.

As rappers Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa performed on a small stage between the lawn and covered portion of the pavilion, the first row railing gave way, leading to people falling over the edge to the pavement below, like flowing water over a cliff.

Camden City Spokesman Vince Basara says that city officials are working with BB&T Pavilion to address the issue.

"There will be a permanent railing installed later, but for the sake of public safety and security the temporary railing has to go up. The buffer zone has to be installed."

Basara says officials are still investigating what caused the railing to collapse in the first place.

Live Nation released the following statement regarding the incident:  'We were saddened that several dozen people, including Live Nation employees, sustained injuries resulting from a railing section collapse during the Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa concert at Camden's BB&T Pavilion on Friday night. Live Nation is closely following the recovery of the injured fans and employees as well as actively working with authorities and structural engineers to determine the cause of the collapse. We have secured the impacted railing section, and tonight's show with I Love the 90's as well as tomorrow's show with Fifth Harmony will go ahead as scheduled.'
