Butane Honey Oil Lab Discovered In Garage Of Anaheim Condo

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Police say they discovered a butane honey oil lab in the garage of an Anaheim condo while conducting a probation compliance check.

The small but active lab was found in a condo unit at Figwood Lane and State College Boulevard, just across the street from Boysen Park.

Anaheim Fire Department's HazMat team was called out to the scene and about six neighboring condos were evacuated from the area for about 20 minutes after determining the scene was stable.

One man was taken into custody.

According to Anaheim police, there have been several incidents involving butane honey oil labs. In March, two men died from a lab explosion, and a lab burned down an entire condo in January.

A state law recently signed by Gov. Jerry Brown makes it an aggravated felony to operate such a lab within 300 feet of an occupied structure.
