SoulCycle Rolls Into Philly

Blazing Saddles
Pump the brakes: SoulCycle coasts into Philly with its first studio— and a second one in the works.
One thing you should know before going to SoulCycle: You will sweat. A lot. But weekend blowouts be damned: You will emerge from the 45-minute, high-intensity, music-thumping cycling session up to 700 calories lighter and on an exercise high somewhere between euphoria and exhaustion. You will leave—decked out in neon SoulCycle swag, no doubt—not wondering if you'll be back but when.
"It's a cardio dance party on a bike," says CEO Melanie Whelan. "The classes consist of choreography and the use of hand weights to simultaneously tone the upper body and core. We ride to the beat of the music, in unison."
