PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sunday, the Washington Redskins will play the Philadelphia Eagles in their final home football game before the presidential election. You may be thinking: So what?
Well, this means the Redskins Rule is in effect.

The Redskins rule is as follows: If Washington wins their last home game before the election, the present party stays in power.
The rule is not 100-percent accurate, however. It has held true 17 of the 19 elections, since the Redskins moved to Washington in 1937. In 2012, Democratic candidate President Obama defeated the Republican candidate Mitt Romney even though Carolina beat Washington 21-13 in their final home game prior to the election.
So are Democratic Eagles fans rooting for the Redskins to win on Sunday? Are Republican Redskins fans rooting for the Eagles to win?
