Actress Kristen Schaal Stumps For Hillary Clinton In Boulder

By Dillon Thomas

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - With less than three weeks until Election Day, celebrities from across the nation have stumped in Colorado on behalf of both presidential campaigns.

Many said the frequent celebrity visits from the campaigns showed the role Colorado could play in the upcoming election.

"If you look at the electoral map, I think a lot of paths to victory kind of have to come through Colorado," said Tim Arsenault, Staging Director for the Hillary Clinton campaign office in Boulder.

On Saturday, actress Kristen Schaal stumped for Clinton in Boulder.

"Thank you to everybody volunteering, and thanks for getting out to knock on doors. It isn't easy, what you are doing" Schaal said. "Politics make you fiery."

Schaal, a Colorado native, is one of many celebrities who have visited Colorado on the campaign trail. For Donald Trump, his son Donald Jr. represented the Trump campaign several times in Colorado.

Both sides of the aisle said they have enjoyed being in a swing state, and receiving the attention from campaigns.

"Here in Colorado, a purple state, you know your vote will count," said Jane Meagher, a Trump volunteer in Boulder. "They really want to reach out to the people. They want to be able to deliver the message, let them know what their campaign and issues are, and how they will solve them."

"It's really exciting that Colorado is going to play such a big role in this election," Arsenault said. "I am really excited that we have gotten so much attention here."

While both parties had events scheduled through the remaining weeks of the campaign, neither announced if members of their ticket will visit Colorado again before decision day.
