Downtown St. Paul is defined by two beautiful parks. One lies in the heart of downtown's core, and the other is in the midst of historic Lowertown to the east. Both are perfect for family pictures.

Rice Park, with its statues of classic Peanuts characters (does it get anymore classic St. Paul than that?), stunning fountain, beautiful surrounding downtown landscape that includes the awe-inspiring St. Paul Hotel, Landmark Center and St. Paul Public Library, all well over 100 years old, is about as picturesque as you could ever hope for.

Mears Park, on the eastern end in the middle of the booming warehouse district, is stunning in a different way. Mears Park is defined by the brick buildings that loom like turn-of-the-century ghosts. A brook cuts through the middle of the park, and with overhanging trees that are lush green in the summer and majestically white in the winter, the park is an ideal background for that perfect family photo.

As these two parks are at the ends of a beautiful, walkable downtown, why not take your family pictures at both?
