Kings' Matt Barnes Accused of Choking Woman In NY Nightclub

According to TMZ Sports, the NYPD is looking for Barnes for allegedly choking a woman inside the Avenue Nightclub early Monday morning. The altercation also involved another woman and man being assaulted.

Kings' center DeMarcus Cousins appears to have been with Barnes during for the altercation. There has been no word on his involvement other than being present.

TMZ Sports obtained a video that appears to take place after the incident. In the video, Barnes and Cousins can be seen walking outside and talking about the fight.

Barnes' attorney Alex Spiro said that his client is cooperating with NYPD's investigation.

Matt Barnes has stated that he did not start the fight that took place in the New York nightclub.

Barnes' rep told TMZ Sports that the Kings players insisted that he was defending himself in an altercation.

Sacramento Kings player Matt Barnes is being sought after for questioning following an incident that took place in a New York nightclub.

Barnes was with teammate, DeMarcus Cousins, when he accidentally "butt bumped" a woman who was in nearby VIP booth. Barnes claims he was slapped in the face by the woman. That cause a brawl in the club.

People who with the woman then started a fight. Barnes was knocked to the ground and one of the men started to choke him.

Barnes' rep claims the Sacramento King defend him in the altercation. He also stated Cousins came to Barnes' defense.
