Twins Name James Rowson Hitting Coach

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins have named a new hitting coach.

The team announced Friday that James Rowson has joined the coaching staff. The 40-year-old spent the last three seasons as the minor league hitting coordinator for the New York Yankees.

Rowson has been in professional baseball for 16 years, beginning his career as the hitting coach for several of the Los Angeles Angels' minor league teams. He also served as the minor league hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs.

Rowson, a New York native, played four seasons in the minor leagues for the Seattle Mariners and Yankess from 1995 to 1998.

Earlier this month, the Twins announced former hitting coach Tom Brunansky would not return to the team next year.
