Christie Talking To NJ Lawmakers To Change Law To Cash In On Book Deal, Report Says

TRENTON (CBS) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reportedly talking to state lawmakers to change a law which would allow him to write a book while in office.

The Record reports Christie has been talking to top Democratic and Republican lawmakers about a bill that would allow the governor to cash in on a book deal.

New Jersey's current law prohibits Christie from profiting from writing a book while in office.

CNN recently reported that the New Jersey governor turned down several positions in President-elect Donald Trump's administration, including Homeland Security secretary, Veterans Affairs secretary and ambassador to Italy.

Christie has said he will serve out the rest of his term as governor.
