PA Target Hosting Sensory Friendly Shopping Hours For Those With Autism

LANCASTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A Target store in Lancaster is creating a more toned down shopping experience for this upcoming weekend to benefit those with autism and other developmental disabilities.

The sensory friendly shopping hours, are being conducted in partnership with Westspan Philhaven. a mental healthcare center.

The event is set for December 10, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the Target at 2385 Covered Bridge Drive in Lancaster. The event is only being done at this one Target location.

Hatchimals To Hit Target Stores This Weekend, According To Company Blog

Families are encouraged to come out for a more private shopping experience. The store will be quieter than normal hours and bright lights will be dimmed to relax the building during what is usually a very hectic shopping time.

Free coffee and beverages will be available for parents.
