More Body Parts Found At Bronx Trash Facility

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Another gruesome discovery has been made at a garbage collection site in the Bronx.

Investigators were at a Bronx garbage transfer station for a second day in a row, after more human remains were found there.

As CBS2's Alice Gainer reported, the NYPD's Emergency Services Unit and medical examiner were still at the Metropolitan Transfer Station on Halleck Street on Wednesday, a day after human body parts were found.

A 911 call was first made early Wednesday morning, about the potential discovery of human remains at the transfer station.

Investigators combed the area with the K9 unite and discovered a female torso and a leg.

Then, they found two arms with no hands. Police believe all the remains are from the same person.

Luciano Guillen -- the owner of Luciano Auto Wreckers -- works next door.

"I come yesterday. I see they got somebody inside, cut, you know," he said.

The parts were found in a transfer station so it's unclear where the remains were originally dumped before ending up there. The company who owns the site had no comment on Wednesday.

Investigators have left the scene, but the probe is ongoing.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to find out how the woman died.
