New Life For Shuttered Hotel On AC Boardwalk
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A boutique hotel along the Atlantic City boardwalk that catered to millennials before it closed last fall is coming back with a new owner.
The Chelsea's next door neighbor, the Tropicana, will reopen the place next month. Trop President Tony Rodio won't disclose the sale price but says the reason to move in is simple - They need the rooms to keep up with demand.

"For the month of June, our occupancy for the full month was 97 percent," Rodio told KYW Newsradio. "So an additional 330 rooms next door to us was really appealing."
The extra space might be particularly helpful in accommodating weddings and other special events.
No major changes are planned, save for one.
"Ultimately, which we hope to have open by the wintertime, is to have a bridge that connects the Chelsea to the Tropicana," Rodio added.
Don't look for additional gaming in the Chelsea, since Rodio says the Trop has more than enough casino space.
