Police Make Arrest In Deaths Of 3 Girls Under The Age Of 10

CLINTON, Md. (WJZ/AP) —Police arrested 24-year-old Antonio Williams in the homicides of three girls under the age of 10 who were found dead in a Prince George's County home Friday morning.

Jennifer Donelan, the spokeswoman for the Prince George's County Police Department, said an adult family member found the bodies inside the Clinton home off Brooke Jane Drive. Donelan said the children had trauma to their bodies.

Donelan said the police are "now in the midst of a major investigation into what happened to these children" and "who killed them." It is a homicide investigation.

"I cannot imagine what the mother is going through. I know I would be torn down if that would happen to any of my children, cause my children are young," said neighbor Cherese Young.

Donelan said she could not provide information about whether the girls are related to one another.

"We're aggressively investigating this case. I can tell you right now I have the complete confidence in our homicide unit and our department," said Sammy Patel of the Prince George's County Police Department.

She said she believes the incident is confined to that particular home.

Donelan said that police do not have any suspects in custody. The police department tweeted that it is committed to "make arrest & determine motive."

The Prince George's County State's Attorney also expressed her sentiments to the tragedy.

"We woke up again this morning as hard as it is to yet another nightmare," Angela Alsobrooks said. "I know that I express the sentiments of every single Prince Georgean when I say we are absolutely heartbreaken."

Neighbors in the relatively quiet community said nothing like this has ever happened. Many are stunned and at a loss for words.

"To find out that they were babies," neighbor James Pinkney said. "Catch the killer."

The horrific nature of the crime hit a nerve with police.

"I wear a uniform but I am a father. Those that responded here today are parents, aunts, uncles and siblings of young children that they care for and love very much we all feel this loss," said Hector Velez of the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police said they are interviewing a number of people, including family members.

Police will give more information on the arrest at 11 a.m. Satruday.
