Best Holiday Lights Shows In Baltimore

Viewing holiday lights is one of the many ways to gain or spread holiday cheer. Another great way is to light up the light in a fellow human being by paying it forward in doing something special for a stranger this holiday season. There is a public lighting ceremony at Mt. Vernon's Washington Monument that takes place in early December of each year. The lighting display at the Washington Monument is a great townie or tourism attraction spot for relaxing or strolling in Baltimore City. There are three bench parks that surround the Mt. Vernon's Washington Monument which offer its visitors the ultimate view of the lit monument. Mt. Vernon's Washington Monument is newly renovated, and visitors can tour the inside by traveling to the top of the building, which makes an unforgettable top view of Baltimore's holiday lights throughout the city.

Harbor East is a great community to enjoy holiday lights in the Baltimore area. There are large holiday decorated wrenches hanging throughout the living, shopping and entertainment district. The shop display windows are unique and beautiful with such unforgettable lit eye candy. The holiday music playing in the streets is an extra bonus as well. You can visit the two grand hotels in the area (Waterfront Marriott and Four Seasons Hotel) that normally have huge well-lit Christmas trees and holiday décor worth viewing. The Waterfront Marriott and Four Seasons Hotel offers small restaurants inside for non-staying guests to justify hanging around observing their holiday lights. Keep in mind, Harbor East hosts its inaugural Merriment & Melodies: A Holiday Choral Arts Series which will take place Wednesday evenings (9th & 16th) in December, featuring starlight performances from some of Baltimore's brightest choral arts groups against the night sky and stunning backdrop of Katyn Circle.

The historic Fells Point neighborhood in Baltimore will be decorated with a variety of seasonal scented green garlands, red bows and twinkling lights. "Broadway Square" between Thames St and Lancaster St is one of the coolest hangout spots in Fells Point all year-round, particularly during the holidays.  Each year in Baltimore on 34th Street, between Keswick Road and Chestnut Street, holiday lights are displayed on one block of 34th Street in Hampden, which is a memorable holiday display like no other. Inflatable decorations spill out on front porches a block long, huge lit candy canes fill the sidewalks, musical trains circle all around and thousands of bright light bulbs cover the whole entire block. Don't miss one their  signature attractions the "Hubcap Christmas Tree" by local Baltimore artist Jim Pollock. This lighting event kicked off Sat Nov. 28th and will last until Thursday, Jan. 1st.This community show is free.

Step aboard the Holley Jolly Trolley from Dec. 3 to Jan. 4, 2016, and enjoy with the sounds of the holidays playing. Talk about a on- stop shop promotion. Just sit back and enjoy the ride beginning in Harbor East, Baltimore's upscale shopping and restaurant district. There is an approximately $28 fee for teens 13 up to adult and $16 for kids from 6 to 12 years old.Click here to purchase tickets online. The Holly Jolly Trolley will then take a 90-minute ride to Hampden to see the infamous 34th Street Christmas Festival of Lights, along with other holiday traditions all decked out in multitudes of holiday lights. Keep in mind the trolley runs Thursday to Sunday from 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Pick-up and drop-off starts and ends at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Harbor East.
