Justin Bieber Accused Of Battery At Calabasas Mall

CALABASAS (CBS) — Was Justin Bieber involved in a case of battery Sunday at a Calabasas mall?

According to police, never say never.

Officials say earlier today, Bieber was at a mall in Calabasas -- where he's just purchased a $6.5 million home -- when he got into a physical altercation with a paparazzo.

The photographer reportedly called 911, but by the time police arrived, the popular singer was already gone. Bieber was reportedly with girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The alleged incident occurred Sunday afternoon at the open-air mall known as The Commons.

The photog -- only identified as a 30-year-old -- alleged that Bieber physically "battered" him after he took pictures of Bieber and Gomez.

The paparazzo reportedly complained of pain and was sent to the hospital to be checked out. He was treated and released. Before going to the hospital, the photographer asked that a report of misdemeanor battery be filed.

Bieber has not been arrested. No charges have been filed, according to police.

A lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Malibu-Lost Hills Station says detectives are investigating the alleged incident.

Anyone with information about the alleged battery is urged to call detectives at (818) 878-1808.
