New Video Shows Missing Millionaire Heading Out To Sea

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) – Recently released surveillance video from a South Florida port shows a missing 35-year old oil tycoon steering his boat out into tumultuous seas.

It's the last known image of 35-year-old Guma Aguiar before his 31-foot center console boat washed ashore in the 300 block of South Atlantic Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 20th. The boat's navigation lights were still on and the engines were still running. Police checked his cell phone records to see if he made any calls and taking a close look at his GPS.

The Coast Guard, along with marine units from the Broward Sheriff's Office, Florida Fish and Freshwater Conservation Commission and Ft. Lauderdale police, conducted an extensive search but called it off over the weekend when they were unable to find any sign of Aguiar.

Friends came forward Monday to talk about the young millionaire they say was misrepresented in the spotlight, where his battles with bipolar disorder often played out. Aguiar made a fortune in 2006 when the Texas-based energy company he ran with his uncle was sold for a reported $2.5 billion. But he has been locked in a contentious legal battle with his uncle over money.

Police are combing through cell phone records and said they don't suspect foul play at this time.
