Same Producer Of 'Friday' Releases New Viral Video 'It's Thanksgiving'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — This year it's all about Thursday...at least one particular Thursday.

Patrice Wilson, the producer responsible for Rebecca Black's 2011 viral sensation "Friday", released "It's Thanksgiving" by 12-year-old Nicole Westbrook from Lake Balboa.

Since the video was posted on YouTube on Nov. 7, it has over 5.2 million views.

Wilson, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, co-founded Ark Music Factory, a Los Angeles-based production company "for discovering new talent and new tastemakers," according to its website.

Wilson wrote, produced and starred in both "Friday" and "It's Thanksgiving".

Black's "Friday" was released in Feb. 2011. The video was removed from YouTube on June 16, 2011 with more than 160 million views.

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black," the original video link said.

The video was re-posted three months later, and the song was ranked 58th on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 list in April 2011.

Wilson is also the CEO and President of PMW Live, which is "a catalyst for independent artist allowing them the opportunity to get their music out into the world."

"PMW Live believes that undiscovered talent don't need a major record deal to launch a career," as stated on its website. "Undiscovered artists now have an avenue to be self made and for their music to be heard all around the world."

Similar to the simple lyrics of "Friday", Westbrook sings basic facts about the upcoming holiday, at times using a turkey leg as a microphone:

"December was Christmas. January was New Year's. April was Easter. And the Fourth of July but now it's Thanksgiving."

"With the turkey (ey!). And mashed potatoes (ey!). We we we are gonna have a good time. We need the turkey (ey!). And mashed potatoes (ey!). It's Thanksgiving."

Besides over 85,000 dislikes on YouTube, social media users have not been grateful for the new viral song.

Black, who was 13 years old when "Friday" was released, also experienced negative attention.

A month after her video was posted, she received two death threats, and in August 2011, Black was removed from her Anaheim school to be home-schooled after endless teasing and harassment from classmates.
