Boston Mayor Menino Addresses Democrats
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is urging voters to reject Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, calling him a decent guy who made a lot of decisions that were bad for Massachusetts.
Menino made the comments during a brief address to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday.

The Boston Democrat said he worked with Romney when he was governor, but said Romney learned all the wrong lessons during his time on Beacon Hill, cutting funding for education and workforce training and disguising tax hikes as fees.
Menino also said Romney is running away from his major achievement as governor — championing a law that dramatically expanded health care coverage in Massachusetts.
That 2006 law became a model for the health care law signed by President Barack Obama in 2010.
