Residents said this latest round of violence has them concerned.

"The playground is for the kids to play, you can't even walk down the street anymore," one man told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck.

"It's so dangerous in these parks now. So dangerous for the kids, you can't even let them come out and play. That's why they have to be supervised. People need to come together in this community to save these children because it's dangerous," a woman told Schuck.

The group NYC Park Advocates has compiled data during this summer of violence and said 23 people have been shot and stabbed in city parks and playgrounds this summer, including this latest incident.

"It's just a lot of violence everywhere, could be a basketball game, could be anything. Maybe it was just a female fight, I don't know. Things happen when people get together in this environment," a resident told Schuck.

The four were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and are expected to recover.

No arrests have been made so far.
