POLICE: Approximately $2,000 Stolen From Northeast Philadelphia Rite Aid
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Sunday morning in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia.
According to police, three suspects entered the Rite Aid on Welsh Road around 4:18 a.m. armed with pistols.
Police say suspect took the shift manager to the office and ordered her to open the safe while suspect two stole a wallet from a customer and suspect three ordered the security guard to the ground.
The suspects then fled on foot says police.
Officials report that suspect one took approximately $2,000 in cash and a tray of quarters and suspect two stole $100 from the customer.
Suspect one has been described as a 5-foot-4, Hispanic male in his 20's with a light brown complexion and a thin build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a whit covering over his face, gloves and had a silver pistol.
The second suspect has been described as a 5-foot-6, Hispanic male with light skin. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with black pants, black Nike sneakers, a face covering, gloves and had a pistol.
Suspect three has been described as a 6-foot-1, black male in his late 20's with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, face mask and had a black pistol.
Police believe this robbery may be connected to a 7-11 robbery that occurred in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. (See related story)
