Walsh Kicks His Way To Success With Vikings
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman took a gamble last year when he released long-time kicker and fan favorite Ryan Longwell, then selected Blair Walsh in the NFL Draft as a replacement.
The move turned out to be a big payoff as Walsh was selected to the Pro Bowl in his rookie season and was one of the top kickers in the NFC.
Walsh, a sixth round draft choice out of Georgia, set NFL records, including most consecutive field goals made mover 50 yards. So what made it such a good season and how can he build on it.
Walsh, a Florida native, sat down with Josh Benson from our CBS station in Miami to talk about just that. See the story here.
