Tesla Cybertruck gets stuck in lake bed at Truckee-area reservoir

NEVADA COUNTY – A Tesla Cybertruck driver found themselves stuck after wading a little too close to the water up in the Sierra Nevada.

On Thursday, California Highway Patrol's Truckee division posted a picture of the stuck truck at the Boca Reservoir in Nevada County.

The truck apparently engaged its "wade mode" – which raises the vehicle's clearance a bit to get through shallow water – but then got stuck near the water line.

As some commenters wrote, the dryness of the lake bed at the Boca Reservoir can be somewhat misleading.

Still, CHP cautioned that even the most advanced vehicles have their limits.

"If your plans include exploring the great outdoors, make sure to know your limits and the terrain," CHP Truckee wrote.

Officers didn't reveal how the vehicle got out of the jam

The Boca Reservoir is about 10 miles northeast of Truckee, just off of Interstate 80.
